About Lee
Lee is situated on the rugged North Devon coast in an AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty). A peaceful and unspoilt secret treasure (shhhh!) scattered with lovely cottages and manor houses, it sits within an area referred to as the 'Fuchsia Valley' - such is the abundance of these vivid flowers - it's like falling into a giant basket of them, if you've ever had that particular dream! There's many other fine examples of Victorian-style planting as well as mossy woods and dramatic cliffs. It's an excellent base for walking holidays, with a number of coastal walks on the doorstep.
Lee Bay is a perfect spot for rock pooling, children love spying on the crustaceans and fish that were too chilled out to realise the tide was going out. The beach itself is ideal for kayaking, snorkelling and canoeing. There's sand too for sun worshippers, and several secret beaches, if you get the tides right that is. If you get the tides wrong then there's coastal rescue....
Lee and the adjoining village of Lincombe sit directly inbetween the more well-known towns of Woolacombe (surf central) and Ilfracombe (Victorian splendor), both of which are walkable (bring those boots!) along the stunning coastal paths.
Self-catering accommodation in Lee village is the perfect way to enjoy everything that the area has to offer, whilst having a comfortable home to come back to in the evening, if you do manage to venture out! A stay in this village is so relaxing that it's likely that the oxygen from the woods will quickly have many city-goers under its spell! Most of our properties take a dog or two, and the village is a great place to walk them.
